I am currently enrolled in the Introduction to Apache Spark, offered by UC Berkeley on edX. This course is the first installment in a five-part series, which commenced on the 15th of June.
A few months ago, I attended a Spark workshop hosted by IBM. Although the workshop was satisfactory, I believe it could have been improved. Nevertheless, the workshop ignited my curiosity, prompting me to delve deeper into Apache Spark. Subsequently, I eagerly awaited the start of this course, which is taught and developed by none other than the team who created Spark.
At present, I am in the second week of the course, and I find its content to be exceptional. Although each week comprises of three modules, there is an abundance of knowledge to gain. To truly grasp the concepts, one needs to go the extra mile and read papers, practice basic notebooks, and learn about MapReduce and SparkSQL. The video content is concise and every second of the video contributes to the learning experience.
From my observation, I can confidently say that the future courses in this series will require a significant amount of effort, but the time invested will be worth it. I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone interested in the field of big data and analytics.
In conclusion, this course has exceeded my expectations, and I am excited to continue learning and expanding my knowledge in this domain.
